What is a kosher phone?
A kosher phone is a phone modified to remove web browsers, social media, and inappropriate content while keeping essentials like calls, texts, and approved apps. Built for Orthodox Jewish standards, now used by anyone wanting focused tech.
Can the Kosher Cell filter be bypassed or uninstalled?
No. The filter is installed at the operating-system level — it is not a parental-control app that can be deleted, and it survives a factory reset. Only Kosher Cell can remove it, after verifying the account owner.
Do Kosher Cell phones work on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile?
Our phones are unlocked and work on major US carriers and MVNOs, or on our own Teltik-based plans. One note: Verizon lines sometimes need "CDMA-less" features removed by Verizon support to fix missing texts.
Can I keep my phone number when switching to a kosher phone?
Yes — most numbers port in. Place your order, then send us the account number, transfer PIN, and billing ZIP from your current carrier. Note: T-Mobile numbers currently cannot port to our plans.
What network do Kosher Cell plans run on?
Our plans run on the Teltik network with nationwide coverage. Plans range from $6.50/mo (talk + text) to $40/mo (unlimited), with hotspot included on data plans and Canada/Mexico calling included at $18/mo and up.
How long does it take to get a kosher phone?
Phones ship Sunday through Thursday from Lakewood, NJ; most US orders arrive within a few business days. Local customers can pick up in store at 1700 Madison Ave, Unit 30, Lakewood.
